Qualities

As a minimum, suitable engineering candidates are required to hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:

  • Environmental Engineering.
  • Geotechnical/Civil Engineering.
  • Environmental Science.
  • Geology.
  • Environmental Chemistry.

Our Construction Materials Testing laboratory also employs experienced soils technicians or school graduates who are contemplating a career in geo/environmental engineering.

Employment with RCA involves an exciting range of project work and will see successful candidates undertaking a mix of office and fieldwork.

Work Experience

RCA offers work experience and summer internships for university students working towards a relevant qualification. Work experience is available during the University holidays and can potentially lead to an ongoing part-time role with RCA throughout the university semester. We are flexible and can accommodate various study needs as well as provide the opportunity for you to undertake your major University projects through RCA with ongoing support available from RCA senior staff members.

During your work experience at RCA you will have the opportunity to apply to real life projects the knowledge and skills obtained at University, providing valuable support to the senior RCA engineers and project managers. The skills you learn through work experience can go a long way in supporting your University studies.

Graduates

RCA is always interested to hear from recent graduates or those about to graduate. There are often opportunities for junior professionals to join the RCA team in an environment which will support your rapid professional development. As a recent graduate you will have the opportunity to liaise with a range of qualified professionals, expanding your industry knowledge whilst working on a diverse range of projects. You will receive excellent training and support from senior team members, developing your time and management skills whilst meeting project goals. Relevant work experience is highly regarded, as are strong written and verbal communication skills.
