Maitland to Whittingham Third Track
The project included the bulk earthworks testing for the construction of the third rail track (10 kilometers), and bridge abutments for the Golden Highway and Range Road rail overpasses.
The services provided by RCA Australia included the establishment of an annex (on site) laboratory, bulk earthworks compaction and moisture control testing, soil classification testing, soil bearing strength testing, soil stabilisation testing, and Benkelman beam deflection testing of RTA road pavements.
Hunter Expressway Project
Abigroup is constructing part of the Hunter Expressway. The work includes approximately three million cubic meters of earthworks to facilitate the building of 27km of four lane divided highway between Kurri Kurri and Branxton. RCA is providing a construction materials testing service to the project from an on site laboratory. The site laboratory is a large facility manned by 24 soil technicians/technical assistance and two clerical staff. The laboratory carries out up to 300 density tests per day in peak times.RCA’s base construction materials laboratory in Newcastle supports the site laboratory by carrying out the more specialised testing requirements. RCA’s construction material laboratories are NATA compliant facilities dedicated to servicing our clients’ QA testing requirements.
